We were looking for a boat to use on class III+ whitewater that didn't require a large crew. Having used a 10' Yukon inflatable before I was pleased with the design and rigidity of the Seahawk II. The size is right for anywhere from 2 - 4 paddlers. The boat is stiff and gives a solid, but lively ride.
The Seahawk II isn't meant for whitewater, but with a few easy modifications should be an excellent small and incredibly economical boat. First, the 'seats' or 'thwarts' need anchoring. Second, with the firm inflatable floor the boat should be a self-bailer. A few reinforced holes fore and aft will suffice.
I would recommend this boat without reservation to anyone for flatwater use and to experianced whitewater rafters only for any river above class II. Of course only the experianced rafters will make the needed modifications for whitewater.
